Coronavirus Live: India Records 214 Fresh Covid Cases Today

Covid Live: The overall death count to date stands at 5,30,710 in India.

New Delhi:

India on Saturday recorded 214 fresh coronavirus infections, while the number of active cases increased marginally to 2,509, according to Union health ministry data.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases has climbed to 4.46 crore (4,46,79,761).

The death count increased to 5,30,718 with four deaths -- two in Kerala, and one each reported from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh -- in the last 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am stated.

Senior Delhi Officials To Spend A Night In Villages Today, Here's Why

Delhi Lieutenant Governor had recently interacted with over 500 villagers New Delhi: District magistrates of all 11 districts in Delhi will spend the night in villages on Sunday, hold consultations with residents and chalk out development work plans, officials said here. The exercise will be undertaken on the direction of Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) V K Saxena, they said on Saturday. After a 'Samvaad @Raj Niwas' dialogue initiative with representatives from 180 villages earlier this month, the LG announced that DMs will be spending a night in the villages in their respective districts, according to Raj Niwas officials. Accordingly, the district magistrates will reach the villages on January 7 morning and spend the night there as well. During the stay, the officials will hold 'Samvaad' sessions with residents of the areas and neighbourhood villages, and prepare a plan to be implemented by the executing agency Delhi Development Authority (DDA), they said.
