French Tennis Player's Ex-Coach Charged With Rape And Sexual Assault

Representative image © AFP The former coach of French tennis player Fiona Ferro has been charged with raping and sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager, judicial sources confirmed on Wednesday. Ferro, 25, has accused 50-year-old Pierre Bouteyre of rape and sexual assault between 2012 to 2015, her lawyer Isabelle Colombani told AFP. Bouteyre was Ferro's private coach and accompanied her during tournaments which often took place abroad, her lawyer said. Bouteyre has been charged with "rape of a minor by a person having authority over the victim" and "sexual assault of a minor over the age of 15 by a person having authority over the victim", prosecutor Patrice Camberou told AFP. Maharashtra Tops, UP At 2nd Spot In Crime In 2021: Report

Maharashtra also topped in registration of cases related to "riots" across the country.(Representational) New Delhi:  Maharashtra recorded the highest number of cases in the country under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in 2021 at 3,67,218, while Mumbai was placed second among major metropolitan cities in registration of criminal offences, according to a National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report. According to the report, at least 174 different types of criminal offences were registered under IPC sections every day in Mumbai, which included 14 cases of "violent crimes" in 2021. Data from the New Delhi-headquartered NCRB, which is part of the Union home ministry, showed a rise of 27 per cent in criminal cases (63,689) in Mumbai (during lockdown-like restrictions) in 2021 as against 50,158 in 2020 and 40,684 in 2019. Violent crimes like murder, kidnap and rape, and offences against senior citizens, women and children, too, rose in the financial capital last year,

In a move that appears to be aimed at improving the algorithm used to serve users with customised content based on their actions and activity on Instagram, the company says it will make it easier for users teach the service to recognise posts that they aren't interested in seeing in various sections of the app that serve personalised content. The Meta-owned service announced in a blog post on Tuesday that it has begun testing the ability to allow allow users to select multiple posts in the Explore tab, and to inform the service that they are not interested in those posts. Delhi Record 214 New COVID-19 Cases, 4 Deaths

New Delhi: Delhi on Monday reported 214 fresh COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 3.77 per cent, while four more people succumbed to the viral disease, according to data shared by the city health department. The new cases came out of 5,683 tests conducted the previous day, the department said in its latest bulletin. With the fresh cases and fatalities, Delhi's infection tally increased to 19,98,858 and the death toll climbed to 26,462, it said. The city on Sunday logged 397 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 3.05 per cent and five fatalities. The health department did not issue the daily bulletin on Saturday. On Friday, Delhi recorded 620 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 3.74 per cent and two fatalities. It logged 702 cases on Thursday with a positivity rate of 4.49 per cent and four fatalities. Civic body said that at least 473 illegal constructions razed this year in a massive demolition drive. New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Friday said it had conducted a "massive demolition drive" against unauthorised constructions in its south zone this year. The civic body, in a statement, said, it will "intensify the demolition drive". The south zone has conducted a "massive demolition and sealing action drive" in different areas between January 1 and August 18 this year. Delhi COVID-19: The national capital also repored 6 Covid related deaths in 24 hours. New Delhi: Delhi on Wednesday recorded 945 fresh COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 5.55 per cent, while six more people succumbed to the viral disease, according to data shared by the city health department. The Indian Railways has floated a tender to hire a consultant to monetise its passenger and freight customer data with the aim to generate revenue up to Rs 1,000 crore, but sources told PTI it may be withdrawn amid concerns over privacy issues. While many on social media, including advocacy groups have raised concerns over violation of data privacy issues, government sources have clarified that the consultant would advise the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on steps to improve its existing business and plan strategies to monetise future opportunities. While the Indian Railways has not officially commented on the tender, highly placed sources told PTI it will be withdrawn "considering the fact that the Data Protection Bill has not been finalised". Raju Srivastava Stable, Doctors Treating Him Well, Says Wife

New Delhi:  Raju Srivastava is a "fighter and will come back to be amongst all of us," the popular actor-comedian's wife Shikha Srivastava said on Thursday. The 58-year-old comedian was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after he suffered a heart attack on August 10. He underwent an angioplasty the same day and has been on a ventilator since then. Ms Shikha said her husband is "stable" and the doctors are treating him well. "He is stable. Doctors are treating him well. Raju ji is a fighter and he will come back to be amongst all of us. We need your prayers and wishes," Ms Shikha told PTI.
